The Morey family origins can be traced back to at least the sixteenth century. The family has been living in Meursault since 1793, and before then, in Chassagne-Montrachet. Each generation has worked the vineyards and made wine from the local grapes.

 

The total area of the domaine is 11 hectares, distributed in different parcels located in the districts of Monthelie, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet, and, of course Meursault. All the vineyards were cultivated following organic agricultural practices from 1992 to 1997, at the end of this period the domaine became 100% biodynamic.

 

Pierre Morey of course  took a great role behind the success of Domaine Leflaive as he is the former winemaker of the said domaine from 1988 until 2008.
